Music Plus

It takes a lot of volunteers of varying talents to create our unique, blended style of worship. At First Pres you are likely to see any of the following groups working to lead worship on Sunday mornings. Additionally, these ensembles come together to produce 4 major concerts each year for Christmas, Easter, Bell Spring concert and an American Heritage concert in July.

Chancel Choir:

This group of 25 plus singers generally sing every Sunday morning throughout the year. From traditional music like Handel, to gospel, to Broadway, they sing a variety of styles of music. They meet on Sunday mornings at 8:30 to 9:30 am to rehearse for Sunday Worship, as well as music for the upcoming concert of each season. We are always looking to expand the choir with heartfelt voices, no audition necessary. Additionally, we invite singers to join us who just wish to sing for special event concerts, but can't make the time commitment to sing year round. For more information or to join the choir contact the church office.

Sufficient Grace:

Sufficient Grace is our Praise and Worship Team. They lead the majority of our worship services through song and prayer. It is made up of 6-8 singers as well as a variety of instrumentalists including guitars, drums, keyboard, piano, and other instruments.  In addition to leading worship and performing in concerts at First Pres, they will often perform in local community events, such as the Downtown Leesburg Christmas Stroll. They rehearse on Wednesday mornings from 10:00-11:00 a.m., as well as Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m. For more information or to join Sufficient Grace contact the church office.

Joyful Ringers:

The Joyful Ringers are our wonderful Hand Bell Choir.  This 3-Octave choir typically rings at our Sunday morning worship services once a month from October through April.  The bells also participate with the choir for  concerts, such as our American Heritage Concert in July and the annual Christmas Concert.  The Joyful Ringers just added their own annual Spring Concert this May.   Rehearsals take place September through May on Wednesday nights from 5:30 to 7:00 pm . For more information or to join the Joyful Ringers contact the church office.

NoteMakers:

Instrumentalists of all playing levels are welcome to join this group designed to enhance and engage our worship service in a different way. A variety of music will be learned and played that adds to our already wonderful music offerings during our worship service. For more information or to join the Instrumental Ensemble contact the church office.

The 1st Thespians

FPC has a drama team of members who regularly provide humorous and/or poignant skits to enhance the worship theme of the day. If interested in becoming part of this wonderful team, please contact the church office.

WordMasters

The speech choir at FPC provides dramatic readings in worship. These readings include everything from Scripture, to famous speeches or writings, to original scripts. The group functions like any other choir - they rehearse, they learn parts, they are directed, they are trained in the use of their voices, they learn tempo, timing, cadence, and expression.

Salt & Light

The supportive and strategic use of sound, video, and lights are essential to all productions at FPC. Our highly trained Salt & Light crew regularly creates Power Points, video clips, slide shows, and lighting designs for worship, live streaming, fellowship programs, meetings,  concerts and other gatherings at the church. We always have openings and ready for training on the system. For more information or to join our Salt & Light crew contact:  Jon Redding.
